About Salim Najib Haidar: He was born in Baalbek and studied there. He later continued his education at the National University in Aley, and then at the 'Lycee' Institute in Beirut. He earned a degree in literature and diplomas in criminal science, political science, sociology, and psychology. He also obtained a doctorate in law from the universities of Paris and Montpellier. Haidar served as a judge and extraordinary ambassador to Iran, Afghanistan, Morocco, and the Soviet Union, and later as a minister in three consecutive governments from 1952 to 1955. He was elected as a deputy for the Bekaa in the 1953 and 1968 sessions. He received prestigious official and intellectual decorations granted by Arab and international countries and organizations. Haidar mastered seven languages. He wrote poetry, prose, and political works, participated in conferences, and gave numerous lectures on diverse subjects, including politics, literature, education, religion, and philosophy.
