His next book, 'The Alchemist', published the following year, became a bestseller in 29 countries and marked him as a leading contemporary author and a true phenomenon in the publishing world. He has been awarded 115 international prizes and prestigious honors, and since 2007, he has been named a United Nations Messenger of Peace. He is the most followed author on social media.
