The Holy Quran is the eternal book of God, of great benefits and sublime purposes. It is a miracle with which God Almighty challenged both humankind and jinn, who were unable to produce a chapter like its shortest one, let alone the entire book. Their inability negated the possibility of the Quran being of human origin and confirmed it as divine. God Almighty said: {Say, "If mankind and the jinn were to gather together to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like of it, even if they were to each other assistants." And We have certainly diversified for the people in this Qur'an from every [kind of] example, but most of the people refused [anything] except disbelief.} God Almighty has presented in the Quran examples that surpass human capabilities, in eloquence, news of the unseen, cosmic sciences, precise figures, noble guidance, commands and prohibitions, stories, tales, sermons, and lessons, and other things that cannot be enumerated or counted. {Falsehood cannot approach it from before it or from behind it. [It is] a revelation from a [Lord who is] Wise and Praiseworthy.} Its wonders never cease, and moreover, it is preserved until the Day of Judgment, untouchable by the hands of distorters and safe from the machinations of falsifiers. God Almighty said: {Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its guardian.}
