The trampled leaves underfoot and beneath the hooves of massive horses remain imprinted in the places where they were crushed, leaving a memory of clear days similar to scattered biographies of trees swept by the winds.

Fadi Toufiq is a Lebanese writer and poet. Since 1999, he has been working in the "Nawafid" supplement of the "Future" newspaper. His poetry collections include "Or More" (2000), "Did You Hurt Your Hand? Did You Hurt Your Cheek?" (2008), and a historical research titled "A Cup for Darwin" (2008).
